Showcase of Graduate Work
Michigan State University's Masters of Art in Education program as well as the Sports Coaching and Leadership focus has given me a tremendous amount of insight. The MAED and focus on Sports Coaching and Leadership has pushed me on so many levels. Below are pieces that I feel are some of best work within my tenure of the program. They consist of my understanding on leadership and pedagogy within the education field.
This was a case study writing that I did within EAD 867. Within this paper I compiled information to help me dissect an issue within education. This taught me how to effectively handle issues in education
Within this reflection, I learned the importance of leadership. This is also was written for my EAD 822. Here is when I learned the importance of Culturally Responsive Leadership.
This is an Memoir I wrote on Helen Keller. It was written for my EAD 822 class where I studied Diverse students and families. This piece of work taught me how uniquely dissect the greatness in another persons life.
Within this artifact, I created a leadership philosophy centered around the principles I learned in EAD 867. This will be used by in the present and near future. This was by far my favorite piece of work.
Leadership Analysis
Within this category, I was able to communicate in writing what I noticed within educational case studies. I diagnosed facts of the case, tensions in the leadership, and also next steps that could be organized in order induce a better educational environment. I also have listed reflections and a memoir concerning leadership.
Pedagogy Writing
Within this framework, I display the different concepts I have digested when it comes to pedagogy which is essential to understand, not just in teaching, but also in any type of communication that involves teaching.
Within this excerpt I write about my new found understanding on education. I discover how broad education is. This helped me see the real meaning of education.
Within artifact I discuss the importance of learning. I learn how learning is connected to pedagogy. Through highlighting different influences we have had throughout history in America.
Within this artifact I relayed the strategy I created for diversity. This was also within my EAD 867 course. This really helped me propel forward in understanding how to strategize for diversity issues.
Within this artifact I discuss the importance of having an athletic plan. This actually was very near to my heart because of my surgical history due to my personal injuries in athletics. I could empathize with everything that I wrote.
